This deletes empty lines, closing the gaps in a list.
Where blank lines come from
Copying between applications, exports that separate sections, and files that end with several empty lines nobody notices.
Why they cause problems
They count as rows. A list reported as 5,000 entries may contain 4,200 real ones. They also produce empty values when processed — and an empty value submitted to a system is frequently accepted as a valid empty record rather than rejected.
Blank is not always empty
A line containing only spaces looks blank and is not. Trim first, then remove empties, or the whitespace-only lines survive.
