This divides one long list into several shorter ones of a size you choose — a thousand-row list into ten blocks of a hundred.
Why batching is necessary
Almost every tool has a limit. Bulk upload forms cap at a few hundred rows, APIs enforce a maximum per request, and indexing submissions have daily quotas. A list larger than the limit has to be divided before it can be used at all.
Better than manual splitting
Selecting and copying blocks by hand across a large list reliably produces one batch with an off-by-one boundary — a duplicated or skipped row that is very hard to notice afterwards.
Batches help even without a limit
Processing in blocks means a failure affects one batch rather than the whole job, and progress is visible while it runs.
