Line Height Needs Room to Breathe
Text set with too little space between lines feels cramped and harder to track visually; a line height of roughly 1.4 to 1.6 times the font size is a common, comfortable starting point.
Letter Spacing Should Be Adjusted Sparingly
Default letter spacing works well for most body text; tightening or loosening it is more often appropriate for large display headings than for paragraphs.
Line Length Matters Alongside Spacing
Lines that are too wide force the eye to travel too far before wrapping, which is why well-designed body text is often constrained to a maximum readable width.
